Excited to try the lace hack xx
I never thought of doing my laces like that, thank you for that top tip. Also I am glad another person thinks like me leave no trace …. so everyone shut gates and take your crap home 👍
GTX stands for Gore-Tex. Virtually all outdoor shoes and boots are ‘Something GTX’.
Lots of people (I am part-time in an outdoor store) ask for a shoe or boot called ‘the GTX’….
The shoe lace tip has revolutionised my boot wearing. 40 something years old and learning how to tie shoe laces properly off the internet.
Here's a tip to ID noob beginner hikers – if tape is stored on trekking poles, they are beginners. Every skilled hiker knows hands and feet travel twice as far as one's body/pack, because they move both forward and backward with each step. It may only be a half-ounce of tape, but the beginner will carry that half-ounce twice as far with each step. Not to mention stickiness tape leaves behind? Experienced hikers wrap tape on a piece of McDonald's straw and carry it in a mini ziplock so it doesn't stick where it doesn't belong.
Tied my shoe laces for 55 years and been doing it wrong. Every day is a school day!!
👍👍👍
Mate, some of the kit on your Amazon shop are discontinued…

Thank you
Simple good tips specially tying shoes:))
Try the Berluti knot mate. Never had it come undone and doesn't knot up when you undo it.

Can’t believe I’m 42 and learning how to tie my shoes lace
Am I the only person who starts off a "standard" knot with the left hand loop? I've been doing it like that since Miss Tisdale taught me when I was in the Infants 65 years ago – I think I'd just graduated from Clarks sandals!
Looking at other websites everybody seems to do the right loop first but it just looks so ODD to me :o)
Loved the story that Olga Berluti learned of the knot from the Duke of Windsor who was taught it by his grandmother, Queen Alexandra, "to ensure he would never be embarrassed by trailing laces"
When you make your first knot put it through twice it will lock while you make to dog ears and tie another knot with the two loops
Duct tape
Your videos have alwalse been outstanding but this video is top tear quality as in its realy great content your funny the and the video has great detail and editing
Good tips. Practical experience.
Knowledge is knowing you need bread, wisdom. Is knowing to put the wrapping on wet feet.
Noice! Already got tape round me pole……. gonna use bread bags when I attempt SWCP in March ( robbed from you on Cape Wrath vids) now at 60 learn how to do me laces propa. Cheers
I do the basic double knot but I like that other knot. Great tips!
awesome tips thank you, that last one with the laces especially, absolute life changer!
Nice one Hazy, I've learned something new today and will now use that method, atb Lee
👍 Totally agree with the tape. Got a burn in my new Ajungilak bag, 25 years ago, (someone’s hot rock??) and put a piece of tape to stop the fill evacuating and the hole getting any bigger…it’s still on it! Saved the bag! TOP!
Great shoelace tip, I'm in for that one! Thanks fella.
Love your channels and content. Great simple tips too! I used to go on many a long walks and camps with my dad when I was just a young whippersnapper. We would always wear bread bags on our feet when it was raining. Still at 38 I follow my dads footsteps and the ingenious idea of bread bags lol. RIP dad.
Ok the bread bags is a Pro tip! That is so useful! Only need now is to eat bread lol
Bloody love the laces tip,. Thats so simple. Just brilliant
On my way to Edale this morning with duct tape wrapped around a walking pole and my boots tied up with the secret knot (I think) . Does it have a special name 🤔 . It should!
Namaste-out of trouble: the Buddha would smile. And I can now tie my shoelaces after 62 years! Thx Hazy.
Mind just blown over shoelaces. Thanks Haze. BOOM!
The reason your laces are coming undone the usual way is because your first bit is the wrong way around. I only found this out recently. Been doing it wrong my whole life. You're aiming for a reef knot with two bites. If you pull the loops through and its a granny knot, then that's the problem.
Great tips…Will definitely try that shoelace trick….thanks
Wow I like that trick tying the laces…I'll have to try that because I'm always double knotting my laces!
