Hastie Natural Area Trail Guide – Knoxville's Urban Wilderness

Hastie could be the most underrated park in Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness South Loop trail system. The South Loop weaves through the center of the park and maintains a easy to intermediate trail rating. However, the trails wrapping around the parks perimeter hold a black diamond rating with lung burning climbs and rocky descents that are sure to push your grip to the limits. Known for the steep descents, climbs, and rough terrain the old school single track at Hastie will push your fitness and technical skills to the brink!

  • Hey dude! I used to live on view park drive. Hastie was my go-to for hiking, jogging, and biking. It’s amazing! I’ve been around, my family has been around, and we all agreed the urban wilderness was something special. It’s been a couple years, but I’m glad you still agree.
Btw, that hill you said was ‘arguably’ the most difficult in the urban wilderness-It is. No question.
Thank you so much for reminding me about how great the urban wilderness is!

  • The GoPro just doesn't do justice to that Hardwood descent, does it? Probably some of the sketchiest terrain in the whole park.
