How To: Hiking with Jim Zellers and Alex Honnold
Hiking doesn’t have to be intimidating, it’s really just a fancy name for “walking in nature.” The North Face Athlete Team members Jim Zellers and Alex Honnold have some great advice for first-time hikers, where they discuss things to consider and how to approach hiking.

Dunno guys, there are a lot of people who die every year just "walking in nature".This is fact.
cool video The North Face. I crushed the thumbs up on your video. Keep up the amazing work.
Alex as President 2032 for 2 terms
My friens
I love the outfit changes
Another important thing is the weather. Being up on the mountaintop during a thunderstorm is generally a bad idea, but heavy rain can soften the ground and make some trails slide down and basically disappear. If a trail requires crossing a river that needs to have little water in it, you can usually find that in the guidebook.
Going on high hikes is usually more fun when you start early/really late so you don't hike in the hot sun.
Also, finding proper weather apps is important, I noticed that some are quite off in the mountains.
3:10 when we go hiking as a family there's usually one backpack but we take turns carrying it. That way, everyone gets to rest sometime (and my sister with her messed up back isn't allowed to carry anything heavy anyways).
You have to do intro to climbing
this is so funny hahahah cool
I used to hike around Europe 30 kg pack 30 KLM those days no mobile no GPS just a map those were the days
Hiking "professional"?? oh, you mean "hiker"….. i've tour cycled 80,000 miles but no one has paid me to do it so i guess i'm not a professional.
3:03 "I do that all the time." Same here. It's what happens when you have a girlfriend that needs to look good at any moment for that Instagram photo.
I don't know… yeah, most people are usually friendly if you say hello but some people just genuinely have no interest in talking to you. Maybe they don't like people, maybe they're hyper focused on the workout.
I love alex but their chemistry is terrible :/
The intro said Alex Honnold – hiking enthusiastic. REALLY!!!
How about Free solo LEGEND
professional hiker? i don't get it, i'm sorry…
Can't believe neither of them mentioned how essential hike beers are.
Hey, I only wished to say that i really liked your content, congratulations!
I have subscribed to your C h a n n e l 😉 Possibly, You can do the same and we will become "real" Youtube friends
Great vid. Terrible choice of music.
As someone growing up going on camping trips and hiking in Switzerland this is nothing new to me, but still enjoyable to watch. The two of them are so charming and I'm sure people can profit from it who've never done anything like this before – great idea North Face!
I love how it says Alex Honnold "Hiking Enthusiast” and Jim Zellers gets “Hiking Professional”. At first I was like WTF, but then I watched the other videos in this series and it’s obviously a joke because each video they get some ridiculous title based on the particular video topic. On the camping video their titles were “Professional Outdoor Sleeper” and “Camp Counselor” haha
When Alex was on Running Wild with Bear Grylls he talked about not being super into the outdoors and mainly just liked climbing. Wonder if that helped change his perspective.
Wow, that was awkward.
Wth is a professional hiker? Basically someone who can walk a lot?
What's the hardest hike you've ever free-soloed?
This is great!! I'm always trying to tell people hiking doesn't have to be a monumental task. Even a thru hike begins with one step!
Do I have to be solely equipped with TNF stuff to be able to hike?
Just the video i needed to get me to stop procrastinating
Who else is here for Alex's great attitude and charming personality?
Better than i found it? Do i have to build a small shed or something
