HOW TO TRAIN FOR HIKING & BACKPACKING | Go Hiking | Mount Washington
How to Train for Hiking & Backpacking | Go Hiking | Mount Washington // In this video, I’m taking you with me on another solo hike, this time up to Mount Washington. My training for the upcoming hiking and backpacking season continues with a steep hike up to top of this local mountain, located here in the Snoqualmie/North Bend area in Washington state.
If you’re looking for a good training hike in the Snoqualmie/North Bend area that isn’t super, crazy crowded like Mount Si or Mailbox Peak, this one is worth checking out. Compared to Mount Si, Mount Washington is a slightly taller mountain by 100 feet and a slightly longer hike by a ½ a mile. It also has better views and fewer crowds than its super popular neighbor, located on the opposite side of the I-90. Mount Washington, Mount Si and Mailbox Peak are all located about 40 minutes east of Seattle, just off of I-90.
Location: Snoqualmie Region – North Bend Area
Length: 8.5 miles, roundtrip
Elevation: 3,250 feet
Highest Point: 4,450 feet
Parking Pass required: Discover Pass

Found the links!
Awesome video young lady! As someone else mentioned, I am loving just hearing your footsteps, and seeing the all the beautiful nature. The best part of oregon for me has been the Trees! Trees just don’t get this big and tall and beautiful back East. Have a great day. 🌺🌲
Nice video!
Question… To train for an upcoming thru hike, do you recommend wearing the fully packed backpack on the training day hikes?
On the one hand, I can see how that would help the body get used to the full weight of the pack.
On the other hand, seems like an awful lot for just a day hike.
Thanks!
Great view of the mountain from up there
May I know What is the height of the back of your car platform??
The hydration pack adapter link isn’t working 🙁
What a beautiful landscape! Thank you for taking us along, this video made me strangely emotional LOL!
Hoping to make it out there one day to experience these hikes; for now covering as much ground as possible in Ontario, Canada!
I am nor able to hike until September due to the fires we are having in our forests here. Any suggestions on how else I could train until then?
I did Mount Washington last week. The mosquitos were so bad at the top. I really don't like the trail bed on the lower 3/4's of the trail, all rock and gravel like a river bed. The views at the top make up for the lower part.
Outstanding video. Thanks again getting ready for weekend hiking here 😁😊
I enjoy your channel – except for snake.
What are the flowers @3:22. Also after your Dirty Harry Hike I did that yesterday. I’ve never gone along the ridge to the East before. Pretty cool.
Haha you're even wearing the same clothes as Kraig Adams
The view is beautiful. The lakes are gorgeous. Do you wear repellent?
I don't generally like continuous playing music in hiking videos, but you did it subtly so, I could here your actual foot steps which is soothing to my ears. This particular type of walking video is one of my favorite style to watch. Great work and thank you for adding 7 minutes of peacefulness to my afternoon.
I love your videos! Thank you for your time and sharing your amazing experiences.
Great job. Thanks for the reminder that I need to do that one again. I will break out the Permethrin.
So many bugs…😅 That sounded so creepy.
I think they put rocks on the mountain trails to prevent erosion. Nice vid!👍🏻
Ohhh ya got me, I was thinking you meant east coast Mount Washington, got excited you might be out this way for a hike. 🙂 great hike there though! Thanks for taking us along!
Hungry 😋
My training for the upcoming backpacking season continues with another day hike, this time up to Mount Washington, the slightly steeper, slightly longer and less populated version of Mount Si. Up at the summit, I was treated to a beautiful view of Mount Rainier, the nearby area and valley below along with lots and lots of bugs. Bring bug spray on this one!
I always cruise right past the turn, would it be so hard to make an actual sign? 😂 love this hike but I’ve never done it when it was snow free. Looks like you picked an awesome day for views! I was camping outside of Sequim this weekend and the bugs were eating me alive! It’s that time of year! 🦟
Love the bear grass! 😁
