Luxe Hiking Gear Rocket XL tarp shelter REVIEW
This is my first look at the Luxe Hiking Gear Rocket XL tarp shelter. This was a fun gear review to do. To date I have been impressed with Luxe products…..and I have to say, this is a cool little shelter. It has absolutely earned a place on my adventure gear wrack. I will continue to use this shelter I am sure of it. Loaded with options, light weight, packable and at $159, it’s affordable! It will come in handy from time to time.
If you have been considering getting one of these shelters, I hope this video helps you decide if this is a shelter for you.
Thank you for your support,
Justin

Not a conscientious company. For a whole month they ignore me and don't send me the goods I paid for. Do not order from them. They deceived me and didn't send the goods.!!!

I can't find any place that currently sells this. It's the exact setup I'm looking for.
These folks donβt ship products you pay for anymore! Donβt waste your time or money, spend it with someone elseβ¦
That half inch is imprortant.

Many thanks. I was gonna get one but I'm 6' 2". Would have been a bad purchase for me.
Nice presentation. I will never camp with an open tarp like that, but I liked the way it looks.
This looks like a totally cool set up. Maybe next year I will try something like this. I don't know how I feel about camping without the feeling of a closed walls around me. I'm sure this is great for those not afraid of waking up with a raccoon at the foot of their bed haha. Great video!
Excellent review. Looks like the right size stove is important. I've been looking at some small-sized options that may work great for this.
Thanks for making this. When I was shopping no one had done a good review of this shelter. I decided to get it a few months back and so far really like it. I have the same seek stove I think and I was able to burn it inside ok. I offset the pole at an angle to give room for the stove. I faced the stove in towards the wall and It was enough room for me at 6'. But I wasn't using a cot which might make the difference. A seek outside cub stove seems perfect. I'm probably gonna make one just for this shelter.
That 1/2 inch is very important. π€£
This was an awesome video bro, you did a great job and really enjoyed watching all the set ups good company and awesome product. Nice AR also
That's a cool little shelter from Luxe. Is it silnylon? Looks so small and lightweight.
Great review man!
Cool tent but I originally came here for the red pants.
Was the breeze from the area where a skirt would be a problem?
Cool tent! I like that one. Great review. CrowβοΈ
I suppose using the stove with the bedding not spread out so you can sit up… then at bedtime, load it up… a quick pivot, then set up your bed could work? I have a separate bug net anyways for my Harbor Freight tarp so… you gotta love the light weight of it
Excellent review! Nice price point but space is an issue. Great video!
Awesome video!
The space under this shelter is awesome, without the stove of course. This thing has some great features. Great review and very honest. Thank you for sharing. Take care Justin.
Nice item. Room where you need it, less where you don't. It should be an inferno with even a tiny wood stove. You might be able to pitch it over a hammock. A two way zipper at the foot end would make it a viable hammock friendly option.
Nortent makes a similar, but larger item for folks who might prefer it for a couple of reasons. It's called the Bivuakk.
That thing is sweet! I'm really digging that porch mode. Thanks for sharing Justin. π€
Great informative video man! I'e just purchased the Luxe Megahorn 4P and am currently looking for a stove. Going back and forth between the titaniums and something a little bigger. Cheers
Man I like that setup! Out of the countless tents Iβve owned Iβve never kept any of them because they all sucked! ( lol ) What I really like about this tent/tarp setup is the versatility where it can be opened up for summer and closed off in harsh weather. Pitched high as you demonstrated I could easily set up a inner bug tent that has a h20 waterproof floor and weighs well under 1 lb. The color is as important as any feature and that blends into the woods pretty good. Yup, thatβs a keeper for me… oh boy Iβm going to get a new toy!! Thanks Justin for a great review, very much appreciated!
Cannot imagine how that tarp would be with a stove. Other than that, this is one of my favorite tarp styles. I'm too weight obsessed for this particular one but Luxe seems to make some economical and sturdy "stove tents". Appreciate you sharing this one.
Great review, covering all aspects of the shelter.
Good job brother! Love the honesty. I wouldnβt run a Stove in this either. Definitely not enough room. Unless, your a hobbit. Looks cool, but an expensive tarp, if thatβs all you can use it for.
Mr. Heater buddy might work? But, Iβd rather use a wood burning stove. I was on the fence. Thanks for helping me save the money. π
Very cool I like the idea π‘ but the execution was wonky I'm gonna try this with my tarp thanks dude!!(=βπ
