What nonconventional ways do you use your favorite piece of multipurpose gear?
Random question…. Why do hikers use dental floss to repair gear instead of just carrying a small amount of fishing line. Fishing line will not break as easily when stitching and makes a decent clothes line without the weight of extra Paracord.
I've never hiked, but I wondered if a bandana, with a few stones bundled in it, could be used as a "bag" when throwing a line to hang food.

I use my puffy as a hood for my sleeping bag. I use my tachyon wind pants as a vapor barrier to extend the warmth of my sleeping bag, bug defense, wind, colder weather hiking. I use my rain jacket in the same way. I use one of my large Dcf stuff sacks as a foot warmer inside my sleeping bag. I use my 1/8 thinlite cc foam as a seat pad, knee pad, back pad for my pack, supplement my sleeping pad insulation, prevent pad from slipping at night. It’s super versatile and cheap/light.
Use my buff for many things including wiping condensation off my tent inner walls.
I use my deuce of spades as a stake
My favorite multi purpose piece of gear is my wife. She can cook clean gather wood set up tent make fire share the load on trail and much more. .lmao. Keep vids coming
In the hot summertime soak your Buff in water and wear it like a balaclava. Instant A/C especially when the wind blows. Great stuff Jeremiah
