Hey Tony..stopping at cocktail rock is only halfway up. You need to go all the way up to Bluejay campground! That's the way to do this trail.
Hi tony.sure you weren’t out on that skateboard again.lol heal quick .thanks for the vid.
I’ve ridden that trail many times. So much fun! You may be afraid of heights but you are definitely not afraid of speed👍🏽
I love the trail noise with honest remarks here and there
Let me sound like the old grumpy guy, I'm 51 been riding since 89. I HATE when I run into guys or a single guy riding out there with their loud speaker full blast. So freakin annoying. Headphones, well, I don't ride with them either, that trail sound is the reason I was hooked at 19 and why I still ride at 51. Love your channel, keep up the great work.
Best mtb YouTube, from oc brown and raised!
Deadwood theme lol

Loving the channel man! I grew up in SoCal and didn’t realize how spoiled I was until I left. Been out East since high school through college, med school and now residency but I come back home to ride any chance I get. Thanks for the content that helps me keep the stoke alive. Much appreciated brotha
Can I take my kids there?
Seriously? Been riding this trail for over 30 years.
Love your vids. Can you reshoot this as one big decent from Blue Jay all the way to the bottom? That is the best way to enjoy SJ. Pound for pound it is the best ride in OC if you love single track. Also, can you shoot a video at Limestone Canyon? That would be great too. Thanks for the great content. You’re doing it right.
I never escape San Juan without giving a little blood.
It’s one of those places that can take a little more moisture than most, so usually I ride there in the winter. The lighting is so different then, with the sun low in the south,. I’m missing the riding weather right now….
Did this trail as a shuttle run from the blue jay campground, solo in the rain a month ago. AMAZING! The first 4-5 miles were a bit overgrown and I got drenched, but it was 100% worth it.
New to mountain biking just got my 1st real bike what trail in SoCal would you recommend for me I live in the LA area.
Have you rode from the top, starting in Bluejay campground? Lots of fun riding from there to cocktail.
I thought I was a 29 guy but you sold me on 27” there!
Bluetooth speaker sometimes
Looking forward to riding San Juan – hero dirt!!! Nicely done… Dang the crash, I was just thinking of riding my 27.5… maybe I'll still with the 29er tomorrow.
Blend with more fun facts👍🙂
Maybe trail name should be the luge …
Just ride this trail this past weekend and as always, it did not disappoint. I'm glad you had a video for it since it drizzled and I had gimbal issues so didn't get any footage.
No music just trail sounds! Love the natural sounds and your commentary.
You’re doing the sound just right I like to hear the trail and a little music if it adds to the vibe…And your commentary is always on point (including your humor) Keep up the great work!! Cheers 🙂
Tony, I was disappointed you stopped and turned around at Cocktail Rock 🙁 , but glad to see you logging it. I've ridden up the trail to Blue Jay Camp and back down too many times to remember the exact count in the last 25 years, but I'm sure I've done it at least 15 times. Last Sunday, June 2, 2019, I did it for the 1st time on my eMTB and it was in very heavy marine layer clouds. I had hoped to get some nice clear video, but no dice. All the bushes were laden with water that kept dumping on me on contact. Visibility was very poor and limited downhill speed fun factor too. I hope you do it again so I can experience your reaction to the following parts. I always go up Old San Juan (on left at Cocktail Rock) on to Blue Jay and back down, but then take New San Juan back to Cocktail Rock (a very technical challenging section in between starts after crossing a small seasonal creek bed that was flowing. The ruts were very deep in many sections of trail such that my flat pedals couldn't turn. In the wet and unclear conditions it was still a nice experience from a variety is the spice of life perspective, but only because I've done it in CLEAR visibility under damp, hot and cold conditions before that allowed me to see all the great scenery already.
The sound of the cassette is music to me anyway, scrub of tires. The gasps that you bellow out in those oh shit moments. Music takes me out of the vicarious moment.
Awsome!!! Trail did it and gonna do it again when I get a chance, no music on the videos all the natural noise is good, yeah 29er is a lil hard to get the switchbacks, you right by the way that fall on the switchback was hilarious, don’t forget to buy a parking day pass, I had no idea till I got to the parking lot, hey good stuff man keep doin your thing
Dope Video! Sending blessing your way, Keep inspiring!🎒🙌🏻
Oh yeah!!!! Appreciation stations. Keep them coming.
