The Secret to Hiking the Zion Narrows
The Narrows at Zion National Park is one of the most popular hiking trails in the park, if not the entire U.S., and for good reason! The hiking “trail” is actually miles of wading (and sometimes swimming!) through the icy Virgin River that allows hikers to explore the steep, narrow, and gorgeous canyons towering above. But there’s a secret to getting the most out of hiking the Zion Narrows, and we’re sharing it with you here!

Looking fine momma
Only God Knows Why: Kid Rock!!!!!
We just did this hike last week and encountered the very same deep spot as you two ๐ Also started very early and it was cold. When we got to the springs that when we finally reached the sun and warmed up! Beautiful hike ๐
Did you travel with bikes or did you rent it ? Looks cool I will be in Zion next week
Why would she even consider hiking this area with her phone not in a waterproof container??? Common sense isn't so common any more…
That was pretty cool ๐
Where do you bike in from? and how long did it take? start at 5am and arrive at 545? We are thinking about renting some bikes. I saw on AllTrails that private vehicles are prohibited.
Nice video! I enjoyed it.
Also very glad you appreciate the canyon.
I have worked and lived in Zion Canyon for 25 years. Also unschooled my daughter here. Zion was her classroom. She then became a firefighter here.
I never get tired of Zion. It changes constantly with clouds, rain, waterfalls, snow and shadows. And you should see a full moon rise over the cliffs!
You both are so cute together โค
beautiful documentary I would only suggest different music.
Beautiful footage! Wonderful Narrows!
Just hiked the narrows top down a few weeks ago. It was fun reliving it! Great video!
Great footage Elise & Booboo. I will probably never get out there but watching the landscape, water & sky is like food for my soul, even if it's on a screen. I enjoyed the music as well. Kindly let me know when it's up. Keep on loving. Keep on hiking …
Good video except the weird singing in the background.
What month did you go and do this? Is the water pretty high typically around that time?
You have to get up pretty early in the morning to get to do that hike without a crowd. We just hiked Top Down and loved it!
Omg!! I did the same. I climbed the big rock where swimming is required but 2 things,I can't swim and i panic when the water is that deep and I can easily sink cause I'm too short. Lol
Hiked the Narrows in the middle of summer 2019 and that water is still very cold.
Hi! This Ben again. I watched it again. After seeing those big
boulders in the middle od the river, i was thinking, that, mayber
the Ancient peoples did some Art
Work on them. One looks like
a big head. Protect yourselves.
Who is the singer/music in your videos? The woman singing almost sounds like you
Beautiful Zion videos! I love Zion! I was there in August celebrating my birthday too! We headed up Kolab Terrace Rd and hiked to Northgate View, awesome for a trail run and only 2 other people on trail. Beautiful views looking straight at/above Zion canyon in the distance. I think that trail also connects to trails that go back down into the narrows. Highly recommend ๐ thanks always for taking us on your adventures โบ๏ธ
Totally captivating!!!
When I hiked the narrows a few years ago, I used a dry bag backpack so all of my stuff would stay dry. Poles, at least one is required. I went in the fall so I wore dry pants. Better to have waders if youโre not tall.
Beautiful! I recently started doing hikes as well
Please stay positive and be safe. Return home to a safe place if you donโt feel right.
I've always hated the narrows. It's the grind you have to get through after hiking amazing canyons like Englestead, Orderville, Mystery, Imlay, and Kolob.
A single thick wooden walking staff is much much better than treking poles. If you want to go more than 2-3 miles the canyoneering boots are worth renting as well. The wooden thick walking stick is worth it for any distance.
Beautiful hike and beautifu video! Wow! Adam and Elise you are best hikers and nature lovers i ever seen. I am from Western Ghats in India, super incredible hikes, ever green forest, rains 300 inches i mean inches! tones of rivers and water falls, next to arabean sea/incredible Goa beaches, but with lots of reptiles, you would love visiting it. Great!
how long was the bike ride in? (: was it flat? hill?
You guys really managed to capture the beauty and the excitement of the Narrows and you had the place all to yourself for hours. So incredibly gorgeous, enjoyed every bit of the footage. Outstanding work guys!! ๐ ๐
beautifully shot! Btw, what are the shoes used – those that can withstand so many hrs in the water?
Angels Landing and the Narrows are amazing. I highly recommend checking out The Subway hike in Zion.
I absolutely loved the cycling footage you guys had at the end of the video! Zion looks so beautfiul โค๏ธ
Maybe next month! That was incred
Definitely something you don't do everyday. Are there flash floods in this area? Love that you guy make your own music.
Another great adventure that we all felt part of….even the cold. Elise is a trooper….and you're not bad either.
Guess I didn't know you were that tall, Adam! I've got you by even a few more inches at 6'10"!
I watched it again.
So nice!!! Great!!
Thanks again. Ben.
Pretty
I wanna do this
Thanks to you two for reminding me of how wonderful that hike is. I'm, a cyclist too and will do it your way next time.
Hey I've noticed you guys wearing gaiters on some of your off-trail runs. I've thought about getting a pair. Any recommendations?
This is one of my favorite hikes. You donโt need to be 6โ6โ though. Iโm 6โ and survived. Yes starting early always works. Iโm so jealous of you two though.
