An quick overnight trip to Grandfather Mountain State Park in Western North Carolina. We had been waiting on the snow to come in for the last couple of weeks and when it hit we dropped everything, hoped in our cars and headed up to the mountain for a snowy hike. I added a backpacking tips section at the end of the video, enjoy!

You have to now make a Reservation for your campsite!
Campers must complete a camping permit before setting up camp, even with a reservation. Permits can be filled out in person at the self-registration kiosks near the Boone Fork Parking Area on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and at the Profile Parking Area on Highway 105. If the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed, hikers can access the trails via the Asutsi Trail, adding 0.4 mile to their hike. Asutsi Trailhead is located on Highway 221; GPS coordinates 36.11639, -81.777320. Attention: Reservations cannot be cancelled online. Please call 1-877-722-6762 for cancellations. Or make your reservation at 1-877-722-6762 (This is the park office number).
